VANORRA
HEADMASTERS

Matriarch Solvienne Mirell
Human | 48 | She/Her

“To become welcome, one must become knowable.”
She is known for her quiet composure, radiant appearance, and softly spoken but unshakable convictions. Her ancestral legacy is steeped in diplomacy and cross-species unification, and Solvienne has spent her life bringing that legacy into the modern magical world.

She is the face of magical reform — cited in parental instruction scrolls, adored by interspecies councils, and revered at magical ethics symposiums.

Thistred Vayn, the Hex-Weaver
Human | 61..? | He/Him

“Do not be afraid!”
Thistred Vayn is the name written where others hesitate. As the Academy’s foremost expert on forbidden magics, arcane contagions, and unstable strain development, Thistred stands at the edge of magical civilization — not to push back the dark, but to document its structure.

Thistred oversees the Department of Forbidden Magic & Strain Containment, working closely with the Department of Mutation Ethics to evaluate, classify, and suppress magical phenomena deemed unstable, unfit, or ideologically corrosive.

Lioren Thorne, Heir of the Vanishing Line
Human | 29 | They/Them

“The basis of all human fears, he thought. A closed door, slightly ajar.”
Lioren Thorne is the most recent addition to the Council of Five — and its youngest member in nearly four centuries. Lioren oversees Structural Magic, which includes arcane architecture, magical containment fields, portal harmonics, and systems integration between spell logic and physical design. Their work is precise, layered, and deeply unassuming.

They have a gift for seeing patterns others overlook — finding where spells misalign and weaving them back into form.

Lioren is soft-spoken, meticulous, and often mistaken for a senior student until addressed.

Cadeyrn Gale, Master of the Moving Mood
Half Elf | 102 (30) | He/Him

“Why cry about it, if you can laugh about it!”
Cadeyrn Gale is the soul-lantern of Vanorra — the Headmaster who laughs with you, not at you, and who often does both at once.

Born into a house of laughter and legacy, Cadeyrn broke tradition by specializing not in seriousness, but in the power of emotional alchemy — the study of how feelings shape, distort, and empower magic.

Cadeyrn oversees the department of Emotional Casting & Spell Temperament, which tracks how emotional states affect casting outcomes. He teaches that laughter sharpens clarity, sorrow reshapes outcomes, and awe is the purest source of power.

Virellune, Daughter of Vanorra
High Elf | ??? | She/Her

“. . .”
The figure known only as the Daughter of Vanorra is the Academy’s living myth. Believed to be the direct blood-descendant of Vanorra the First, she has remained a quiet, anchoring presence through the institution’s long and shifting ages.

No one can fully describe Virellune’s appearance. Those who see her often recall it later as though it were part of a dream — hazy, glimmering, always just beyond the edge of memory. No sketches exist. No enchantments capture her presence.

Her birth is unrecorded. Her speech is rare. Her authority is absolute.
