VANORRA
AIR STRAIN STUDENTS

Saelrin Whist
Air Genasi | 16 | He/Him
“Am I too quick, or you're just too slow?"
Saelrin is restless and razor-sharp, constantly in motion and never far from his next clever remark. He speaks as fast as he thinks — which is to say, almost too fast to follow — and seems to treat life like one big game, especially when he’s winning.
Competitive by nature and always chasing a challenge, he can’t stand silence, often cracking jokes or asking rapid-fire questions just to keep the energy high.
Still, behind all the movement and mischief, there's a keen awareness of others. He notices everything — and has a comment ready for all of it.

Magic: Can accelerate his body using targeted air pressure. Appears to blur or blink from one point to another. Requires oxygen calibration to avoid nausea.

Thelva Rue
Kalashtar | 15 | She/Her
“Listen. What do you hear?”
Thelva is gentle but never weak, moving through the world with a quiet grace that’s easy to overlook — until it isn’t.
She floats between conversations like a breeze, present without demanding attention. She listens far more than she speaks, and when she does speak, it’s often with words that land a little too precisely. Thelva remembers everything — faces, tones, things left unsaid.
She’s rarely without her flute, a worn and well-loved instrument said to double as a weapon if someone pushes her too far. Most people aren’t sure if that’s a joke. They’re not brave enough to find out.

Tutors younger students in breath control.

Magic: Whispers travel through mist or fog when she breathes into it. Can influence mood subtly through vocal inflection.

Revron Gale
Merfolk | 17 | He/Him
“Ho ho ho! Worry not my dear common folk!”
Revron is bombastic, dramatic, and entirely convinced that life is one long heroic entrance. He arrives with flair, speaks with theatrical grandeur, and never does anything halfway.
Loud, loyal, and absolutely full of himself, he treats every challenge like a legendary quest and every compliment like prophecy fulfilled. Raised in immense wealth, he holds tightly to old-fashioned manners, often offering elaborate blessings or prayers for those he affectionately refers to as commoners.
Somehow, despite all the pomp and pretense, his heart is sincere — and once he’s decided someone is worth protecting, he’ll move mountains to do it.
───────── ⋆ ⋅ 𖤐 ⋅ ⋆ ──────────
Has written three epic ballads about his own training montage.
Suspended once for attempting aerial jousting with a classmate.

Magic: Can summon localized cyclonic bursts around his body. Very physical spellcasting style. Clothes often become torn.

Tevi Silque
Beasfolk Cross | 16 | They/Them
“An old silent pond. A frog jumps into the pond- SPLASH! Silence again.”
Tevi is soft-spoken and cryptic, often appearing where no one expects them, and never quite when they should.
They move like a breath held too long — barely there, but impossible to ignore once noticed. Conversations falter when they pass, and the air grows colder, skin prickling with goosebumps for no clear reason.
Most students don’t know much about Tevi, only that they seem to exist on the edges of things, listening when no one sees and vanishing before anyone can ask a question. Their presence lingers long after they’re gone, like a shadow that was never cast.

Has never been caught returning to dorms after curfew.
When spoken to directly, they often respond with a BAD haiku. If they respond.

Designation: Strain-Β-23-SD
Strain Name: Silken Draft Evasion Type
Magic: Evades detection by dispersing their body into a fine mist during wind surges. Works best in moonlight.

Irk Tern
Human | 15 | He/Him
“Bearable."
Irk is confident, daring, and constantly testing limits — the type to leap first and argue with gravity on the way down.
He carries himself with sharp precision and little patience, often scanning the world with a cold, judgmental glare. Most people never make it past that look.
Irk holds high standards and sees no reason to lower them, offering approval only when it’s truly earned. He doesn’t hand out trust easily, but when he does, it means something. Until then, expect silence, scrutiny, and the distinct sense that you’re being measured.

Strain Name: Stormbreach Aviarch Strain

Cerina Wex
Dragonkin | 17 | She/Her
“Stand down before me."
Cerina is refined and commanding, her every word chosen with calculated elegance. She holds herself to impossibly high standards and expects no less from those around her.
Strict, disciplined, and unwavering, she rarely repeats herself — once is enough. Her dragon lineage shows in the way she walks, speaks, and watches others, always poised, always composed.
Cerina does not tolerate foolishness, and her presence alone is often enough to silence a room. Grace, to her, is not a performance — it is the minimum requirement.

Fen Larrow
Serpent Beast-Folk | 16 | He/Him
“It seems you lost something!"
Fen is scrappy, sharp, and entirely unapologetic. With a chip on his shoulder and a grin that says he’s already stolen something from you, he doesn’t care if you trust him — he’s not here to impress.
He plays by his own rules, and only when they serve him. Street-smart and quick with both his hands and his mouth, Fen knows how to survive, how to slip past notice, and how to turn the tables when no one’s looking.
He’s a thief, a trickster, and a troublemaker, but he owns it all with pride. His reputation isn’t a burden — it’s a warning.
───────── ⋆ ⋅ 𖤐 ⋅ ⋆ ──────────
Banned from three separate sparring clubs for "excessive sneakiness." Known to also have stolen something from the Vanorra halls, even if caught soon after.
Keeps a log of every student’s (???).

Designation: Strain-Β-31-SA
Strain Name: Slipdraft Ambush Line
Magic: Manipulates breath speed to move soundlessly and increase reflex response. Used for ambush duels. Also known to use said breath to choke his opponents.

Asha Verrin
Ice Fairy | 14 | She/Her
“Do you see it? In the sky."
Asha moves through the world with a soft, drifting focus that never quite settles. Curious and dreamy, her attention often lifts toward the sky, following thoughts that rise before she can stop them.
She writes constantly — in margins, across assignments, and on her own hands when ideas appear too quickly to contain. In class, her eyes wander not out of disinterest, but because a story has tugged at her mind again.
Asha is always slightly elsewhere, guided by quiet imaginings that shape the way she listens, learns, and speaks.
───────── ⋆ ⋅ 𖤐 ⋅ ⋆ ──────────
Her dreams occasionally float out during naps and must be dispersed by faculty.
───────── ⋆ ⋅ 𖤐 ⋅ ⋆ ──────────
Designation: Strain-Β-19-CR
Strain Name: Cloudling Reverie Type
Magic: Enchants clouds into dream forms, often pulling subconscious thoughts into visible vapors.

Thollan Strundra
Demonoid | 17 | He/Him
“Hah. Dream on, critter."
Thollan carries himself with a stern, razor-focused presence that unsettles most before he even speaks. He craves absolute control over his surroundings and grows tense the moment anything slips outside his expectations.
His gaze is sharp, assessing, and often uncomfortably direct — the kind that weighs a person in seconds and finds them lacking. Thollan doesn’t bother to hide his judgment or soften his opinions; if he believes someone stands beneath him, he makes sure they’re aware of it.
Precision, discipline, and authority define him, and he expects the world to fall in line just as neatly.

Vessi Thornroot
Funginoid | 16 | They/Them
“HMHMHM! Yes, yes. I aaaaaaam listening. . . HAH"
Vessi moves through conversations like they’re testing the acoustics of reality itself, playful and strange in a way that leaves others unsure whether to laugh or step back.
They quote themselves constantly, delighted by the way words change when repeated, twisted, or echoed out of context. Chaos trails behind them — harmless most days, disastrous on others — and they never seem particularly remorseful about the trouble they cause.
Their eccentric habits, sudden bursts of insight, and unpredictable humor make them both magnetic and exhausting. With Vessi, every sentence feels like the start of something odd, unsettling, or unexpectedly brilliant.
